India’s one of the most celebrated bankers and CEO of ICICI Bank Chanda Kochhar may lose her job as notion against her getting stronger among ICIC directors.
The development is quite surprising as a few days ago ICICI’s board had expressed its faith in Kochhar in the light of ongoing investigation in alleged quid pro quo loan to Videocon.
She is facing charges of favoring to Videocon that invested Rs 640 million into a company owned by her husband Deepak Kochhar.
Now, the question is why so much media focus on Chanda Kochhar rather on alleged scam.
The answer is her unparallel success in the Banking sector. Also, she was recognized as a 20th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes in 2009.
