Golden Week begins October 1 and with only the 1st, 2nd and 3rd overlapping this trip, I felt it safe to base ourselves in Shanghai. Duh... I later read that approximately half of China's total population traveled during Golden Week 2018 - 536 MILLION (give or take a few people). Think, gridlock...
