It has been suggested to me that I gypped you all (my apologies to Romanians) by not showing the actual harvesting/canning of our homemade sauerkraut in the first video. So here is the final process, 6 weeks or so later. This sauerkraut turned out excellent! There is something about fresh sauerkraut that just puts the store bought crap to shame. Truly a must-have skill for homesteaders and gourmands, ancient mariners and yuppies yearning to rediscover the skills of our ancestors and eat well in the process... I want to do a video on our homemade canned salsa but am meeting some resistance from a family member who wants to keep the "proprietary family secret" secret. I'll keep working on her...
