On the southeast of the Veluwezoom the river IJssel flows. In the basin of this river one encounters water birds and there is the opportunity to meet an oystercatcher and occasionally you can enjoy the sight of an avocet, redshank or goldeneye.
The old course of the river are restored. The dynamics of the river water creates a new kind of nature almost by itself.
But first the conversationist must determine whether they would like to see moose or geese and other birds in the distant future.
Park managers who peer into the future talk of different options when discussing this river area. Thus, they distinguish the "Moose" option from, for instance, the "Black-tailed Godwit" option.
After all, a moose has different environmental requirements than a black-tailed godwit.
Admittedly, these are all plans for the future, but when formulating park management plans such choices have to be made.
Back up the hill. From this point you can look over and beyond the river dale when the sky is clear.
