http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com The Pha Bong Huay Hill Tribe School is a short distance away from Muang Choom. Run by missionaries and the Thai Government, these hill tribe children originally lived in the mountainous border areas between Thailand and Burma. The Thai Government leads occasional raids into the mountains on the opium fields. Many of the children's parents were killed during these battles or simply ran away, abandoning them. The small children and I had a good time doing, "head, shoulders, knees & toes," teaching the short version of the "hokey-pokey," and then we played their favorite game, "freeze." Tired me out and probably made it impossible for them to settle down after we left. Fun!
