This song is really written for a girl to sing. I write most songs in half an hour, but this one took a couple of years before I found the right way to write it, though I always knew there was a good song in the idea, which is really quite old-fashioned and music-hall. Many of my songs have a 1940's vibe to them. You can imagine Vera Lynn singing this. If you want to record it, message me including a link to a sample of your own singing. The key will be changed to suit your voice if necessary.
