'Datuk', Six Ptd Officers Suspected Of Abuse Of Power Released

A deputy director-general of a division in the Prime Minister’s Department with a “Datuk” title and six Administrative and Diplomatic Officers (PTDs) were released today after they were remanded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to facilitate investigation into alleged misappropriation of the 14th General Election funds involving millions of ringgit. All seven are appointees between Grades 44 and Public Service Premier Post, JUSA B and serve in the research divison of the Prime Minister's Department. They were arrested on August 28th in the B Complex of the Prime Minister’s Department and and the MACC headquarters following their statements to assist investigations into abuse of power. Magistrate Azizah Ahmad allowed all seven to be released on MACC bail with one surety each.
