Podcast Video of Danny Quintana on Why We Need the Global High Seas Marine Preserve to Save the Oceans and Marine Life at a Book Signing: As the technology of industrial fishing gets better the amount of marine life in the seas rapidly vanishes with many top-predator species nearing extinction or irrelevance in the ocean ecosystems. Danny Quintana founded the GHSMP, with the purpose of banning industrial fishing in international waters, after learning how bad the ocean crisis had become while doing research for his new book, Space & Ocean Exploration: The Alternative to the Military-Industrial Complex. Tuna are almost extinct, 100 million sharks are slaughtered annually for their fins, whales are still hunted, coral reefs are under assault, coastal salmon farms are hurting wild salmon migrating past and contain antibiotics, sardines were fished out decades ago in Monterey, California and recently off Peru, cod fisheries off Northeast U.S. were fished out and have yet to return and more.
