Local authorities in east China's Fujian Province have given an update on their investigation into a major chemical leak. Over 50 people were hospitalized after 70 tons of toxic solvent leaked into the sea in the port city of Quanzhou on November 4. Seven people were arrested. Authorities say they have cleaned up 40 tons of the chemical and the rest has evaporated. Local fish farmers have lost millions of yuan after the solvent dissolved their floating fish cages.
