Filmed: 12/02/18 Hope everyone had a great Christmas and now let's have an even better 2019... the year Big Boy 4014 returns to life. Today though, we are back at Union Pacific's Coffeyville Sub by the old Leeds Plant in this video. This is one of the trains I filmed while waiting on the UP1943 when it was leading what would be President Bush's Funeral Train down in Texas. For a while now, Union Pacific has been adding freight cars to empty NB coal trains. This one has around 35 mixed freight cars in front of the empty coal train. First time I've filmed one of these. And on a side note, the KCS line through my home town of Blue Springs is now seeing something similar with new trains coming in on the CSX, they are combining manifest moves in their intermodal train, the IVNKC (which I have seen, but not been able to film yet). Anyway, that's it for now, I'll have more from here next week, and then this coming Sunday I'll have part 2 of the Colorado Joint Line ops session series. Thanks for watching and see you next time!
