Tropical Storm Gordon formed in the open Atlantic waters overnight, and is expected to become a minimal hurricane before weakening and turning extratropical near the Azores in a few days. Gordon is the 8th depression and 7th named storm of the season. Gordon is not expected to cause any damage or disruption on land.
