NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Right now thousands of Midstate soccer fans are celebrating a big win. The Olympic Gold Medal winning U.S. Women's Soccer Team is right here in Music City Wednesday night. This is the first time in 9 years the team has played in Nashville, and they didn't disappoint with a big 3-1 win over Scotland. Capping a great day for thousands of Midstate fans that say playing like a girl is no longer an insult. It's a compliment. The team did what the men couldn't in 2012: leave Music City on a high note. They showed that the girls soccer team is better than the guys team, so girls can actually play soccer too, and I think we're actually better, says 13 year old soccer fan Emily Sosnowski.Sosnowski and her friends braved the cold Nashville air for a chance to see their role models take on Scotland at LP Field.I love the USA soccer team, I love watching Alex Morgan, Hope Solo and Abby Wambach and Tobin Heath, I just love the USA team, they're really awesome, says 11 year old soccer fan Abigail Williams. The team played in Music City in 2004. On that occasion they beat Canada. 9 years later, the players have changed, but the team's success continues.Williams says one of her favorite players is #20 Abby Wambach, who was voted the Best Player in the World. On Wednesday, #20 became the only 8th player to make 200 appearances for Team USA. It inspired little Abigail to keep playing.Very excited because I play soccer too, says Williams. The team is so good, in fact, they're even role models for the guys. It's great that they came down here, you can see a lot of people came out to support USA, it's just a great thing for Nashville, says soccer fan Ardlan Khalili.
