This is what velomobiles are about: find a nice, flat, smooth, almost empty cycle path, a nice sunny day but not too warm, a nice scenery, get up to speed and eat up the miles. This particular path is the south end of the LF7 long distance cycle route. It goes around the dutch city of Maastricht, snaking along the Maas river on the narrow stretch of Belgian land between the river and the border. Half of the path has recently been resurfaced and is smooth as a baby's bottom. I love that path when it's not crowded with cyclists and pedestrians in the weekend. It was part of my commute today, as my company sent me to work at our branch office in Flanders 30 miles away, which happens every once in a while. What better way to start and end a workday eh?
