Fatal Abuse Of Indo Maid: Remand Extended

The remand order on a 60-year-old woman, who was detained in connection with the fatal abuse of an Indonesian maid, has been extended by seven days. The woman is the mother of two siblings, aged 36 and 39, who were the employers of Adelina Lisao. The Indonesian maid was rescued from her employer’s home in Bukit Mertajam on February 11th, after it was reported that she was physically abused and was made to sleep on the porch with a dog. Adelina died the following day at the Seberang Jaya Hospital after suffering multiple organ failure linked to anaemia. The post mortem report showed the maid had been neglected and experienced blood loss. The case is being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
