Here's a series of six trains I filmed right here in town about 4 blocks away from home here in Blue Springs, MO.  Usually I can hear the WBs blowing their horns at the crossing by the school bus yard just off 7 highway.  Normally they are going very slow as they climb the grade, which crests between 10th Street and Main Street.  In this video, of the six trains, only one is an Eastbounder.

Eastbound trains I don't usually hear till they start bowing their horn at Main Street.  Plus they are also moving a lot faster.  So I just don't have the time needed to get trackside when one comes through.  Sometimes by buddy Chris (844Train) will hear them from his place and give me a heads up an EB is coming, or he heard them talking on his scanner.  But if he knows one is coming, he gives me a heads up.  Interestingly enough though, that's not how I got the EB in this video.  I was on me way home from work and when I crossed over this line on I-70 and saw the train heading east.  So I gassed the car a bit more.  Now I was racing the train to get to Main Street as soon as I could. Something, somewhere along the lines changed though, and I ended up filming it at the 10th street crossing, not at Main.  I had seconds to spare, but I got it.

Also, I did edit out 2-3 minutes of each train.  If I didn't, the video would be over 30 minutes long.  Since these trains are all basically unit trains (two stack trains and four grains), trust me when I say you're not missing a lot.  I know a lot of people like the fact I don't usually edit down the trains I film, but weighing that vs having people sit for a half our was kind of a no brainer.  Most people today don't have the patience to sit through 15 minutes, let alone 30 or better.
