PAS To Gauge Popularity In Fight For Marang

Now, PAS President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang is expected to gauge further his popularity, as he faces a three cornered fight to defend the Marang parliamentary seat for the sixth term. He will be contesting against BN’s Mohamad Nor Endut and PKR’s Dr Zarawi Sulong, while four state seats in the Marang parliamentary constituency will also see a three-cornered fight between BN, PAS and PKR. Dr Zarawi who was ushered in by about 30 supporters at the nomination centre at the Marang District Office was obviously overwhelmed by the nearly 8,000 strong crowd of PAS and BN supporters. Meanwhile, the Rhu Rendang state seat will also see a close battle between Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi’s political secretary Prof. Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and Nik Dir Nik Wan Ku. Dr Ahmad Samsuri will have a hard act to follow and fill the shoes left by the PAS president in the constituency.
