Asahi Kasei designed Genki Shokutaku Pro to support practitioners who would benefit from the advice of a registered dietitian. Diabetic, hyperglycemic or patients with hypertension can take a picture of their meal at home and send it to a registered dietitian at Asahi Kasei via the internet. The dietitian will them analyze its nutritional value and give advice based on the patients dietary habits, on how to improve on their diet. Patients then receive detailed feedback in print or on a website. Using Genki Shokutaku Pro improves the quality of patient care and gives general practitioners an ability to tailor their patients dietary intake. As the service is done in a short amount of time, clinics or hospitals where registered dietitians are not employed can utilize this service and thereby provide a more efficient and effective service to their patients.
