A tourist remains warded at the Port of Spain General Hospital after she was attacked near the Queen's Park Savannah on Boxing Day. The 72 year old British national and her 74 year old husband were among several tourists who arrived in Trinidad via the vessel MSC Preziosa, which docked in Port of Spain around 9am on Boxing Day. The pair told police they took a break from sightseeing at around noon, and sat on a bench near the St. Ann's roundabout. They were then approached by a man who was armed with a knife. The suspect attempted to cut the strap of the woman's bag, injuring her hand in the process. The man is said to have escaped with the bag containing a cellphone and two credit cards.
