Everybody Reads 2018: When I came from Yemen, I was ambitious.

The PCC Library has again partnered with Multnomah County Library for Everybody Reads, a citywide community reading project. The selection this year is a love story titled “Exit West” by Mohsin Hamid. “Exit West” has many themes that relate to refugees, migration, technology, family and relationships, and the impacts of war. The book has been chosen for a number of awards including being a finalist for the 2017 National Book Critics Circle Award. As part of our partnership, the library hosted story booths at each campus to collect and record personal narratives related to the book’s themes. Students, staff, faculty, and the larger PCC community were invited to share their personal stories about migration or displacement.
