This research involved measuring soft matter such as living organisms and internal organs and then evaluating those measurements with numeric figures. Two materials with different hardnesses including an aluminum cylinder and rubber are pressed against the targeted matter to measure the hardness. The University intends to use this technology as an elemental technology to increase the performance of endoscopes and in health equipment for home use, in equipment to measure eye pressure, and to measure shoulder stiffness.
