(16 Nov 2018) Wildfire evacuees expressed mixed feelings about President Donald Trump's planned visit to Northern California where a massive wildfire has killed at least 63 people and destroyed nearly 10,000 homes. Trump's visit Saturday will come several days after he posted a tweet blaming the wildfire on "poor" forest management and threatened to withhold federal funds. He later thanked firefighters for their "incredible courage" in battling the blaze. Residents waiting in line at an evacuee assistance center at the Chico Mall expressed mixed opinions about Trump's planned visit. Some said they were happy he's coming so he can see the devastation firsthand and bring more resources. Others were skeptical of his intentions and worried the president's visit would create traffic congestion and other problems while the region is dealing with a disaster that has displaced thousands of residents.
