8 Shoplots Destroyed In Early Morning Fire

In Selangor, eight shoplots along Jalan Maxwell burned down in an early morning blaze which broke out near the Rawang bus station today. State Fire and Rescue Department deputy director operations, Mohd Rizal Buang said 90 per cent of the shops were destroyed in the 2am incident. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Two teams of 29 firemen including two officers from Batu Arang and Selayang were dispatched to the scene after they received a distress call on the fire. The rescuers were also assisted by police and Tenaga Nasional Berhad personnel as well as the Tun Teja volunteer firemen squad. The cause of the incident and amount of losses are still being investigated.
