AVONDALE, Ohio (WKRC) -- A Metro bus was swallowed by a sinkhole in front of the entrance to the Cincinnati Zoo around 9:00 P.M. on Thursday night. The bus, which had no passengers at the time, was traveling on Shields Street. The driver was not injured. Crews said the 30-foot hole was caused by an underground pipe that was about 100 years old and eroding the ground around it. Two tow trucks were able to pull the empty bus out of the hole.
