A lucky girl’s tears of sadness after thinking her dream puppy is already sold turns to tears of happiness as she finds out it is to her family.

Kelly Crocco sprung the surprise on her daughter Maddy, 10, as she took her to Selmer’s Pet Land in Long Island, New York, to check out some dogs.

Approaching a three-month-old cockapoo called Gigi, Maddy instantly falls in love but is devastated when her sister Hailey, 12, points out it is already sold.

Initially devastated, Maddy’s sadness quickly turns to elation when her maths teacher mum explains Gigi has been sold to the Crocco’s and will be coming home with them.
