Using the right pumps in an optimised way can lead to significant savings, both for the operator and for the environment. According to a British study, pumps use up to 10% of the world’s energy. Pumps in the food, dairy and beverage industries use the most. In this video, Alfa Laval’s Gitte Kristensen explains how the Alfa Laval pumps, together with Alfa Laval’s expertise, contribute to reduced emissions, energy savings and lowered costs. She discusses an independent study that analysed the use of pumps at an American dairy. The study concluded that using Alfa Laval pumps in an optimised way, cut running costs by 42% per pump. It also showed that energy consumption was cut by 15% and annual savings for the operation could be €21000. Gitte points out that Alfa Laval doesn’t just sell the pumps.
