(5 Nov 2018) LATINA A-LISTERS EVA LONGORIA, ROSARIO DAWSON, ZOE SALDANA AND OTHERS RALLY VOTERS IN FLORIDA AHEAD OF TUESDAY'S MID-TERM ELECTION
Eva Longoria, Rosario Dawson, Zoe Saldana, America Ferrera and Gina Rodriguez took to the streets of Miami, leading hundreds of people in an attempt to rally people to vote ahead of Election Day.

While the actresses were looking to improve voter turnout overall, they were specifically targeting the Latino community on Sunday (4 November 2018) as they marched in Little Havana.

Longoria told The Associated Press that getting people out to vote is one of the most important things that they could do as citizens.
"The Latino population is not a monolithic group here in the United States. We're Mexican, Dominican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, but we have way more similarities than we do differences. Our language, our culture, our familia, our religions, most if the time. And so, for me it's about finding that common ground, and not just with Latinos, but Americans. We all share a lot. We share very common themes of compassion and love and prosperity and tolerance and acceptance," she said.

While the actresses have been known for their Democratic leanings, they insisted the purpose was to get everyone engaged.

Ferrera says she wants her fellow Americans to get out and vote because it will make our democracy work better.
"We're not out here as celebrities or as actors, as our professions. Just as when a dentist votes, he's not voting as a dentist. He's more likely voting as a father, as a son, as a tax payer, as somebody who hold their own values. And we're just like that. I'm the daughter of immigrants, I am a true blue American, I bleed red white and blue. I love this country and I want to protect this country," she said.
