we grew up biracial/multicultural -
I am the second child of Kaleo James Waia'u & Shelley Lea (Daniels) Waia'u. I grew up in multicultural neighborhoods in a biracial/cultural family trying to make it's way in a world that insists we check our racial/cultural identification in a single box. I check many boxes. Hope you all are okay with that :) andddd - this song is in process :)

*Thank you, Amanda, for recording this while chillin' with your hermana.

MIXED KIDS
I am all of those
looks, feel and sounds
the resemblance is uncanny
and incomplete

I am all of those
tones, ticks and nuance
the resemblance is uncanny
but you know, you know, you know it's not me

I'm all of those
but I am none
completely, wholly
Just where I fall is
a blurry line
I reside on indefinitely

It shouldn't be too much to ask to carve some space
to let me be, let me be
It shouldn't be too much to ask to carve some space
to let me be, let me be
It shouldn't be too much to ask to carve some space
to let me be, let me be

I am all of those
looks, feel and sounds
the resemblance is uncanny
and incomplete
