Several Memorial Day weekend events hosted throughout Tri-State

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - There are several Memorial Day events going on in the Tri-State this weekend in honor of Memorial Day.

Mt. Healthy, Ohio

Arlington Memorial Gardens in Mt. Healthy is honoring military members who have died with a giant flag display called "The Field of Memories." 

The flags will fly through Tuesday. There is also a photography display at Arlington called "Remembering our Fallen."

On Saturday, there will be a reading of names from flag dedications at 3 p.m. On Sunday, there is a "Lunch with a Veteran" event.

Spring Grove Cemetery

Spring Grove Cemetery has several activities happening this Memorial Day weekend.

The American Legion Post 372 will hold a ceremony with music starting at 10:45 Sunday morning in the Civil War section.

On Monday, the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will also hold an event in the Civil War section. They'll perform a historic custom dating back to 1868.

There will also be music and a living history presentation.

Green Township, Ohio 

There will be a service Sunday to honor local servicemen of the Jewish faith who made the ultimate sacrifice.

It starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Covedale Cemetery on Sidney Road near Anderson Ferry Road.

The program is presented by B'nai B'rith of Greater Cincinnati. Family members of those being honored will be in attendance.

A local American Legion Post will play taps and fly the American flag.

Delhi Township, Ohio

Delhi Township is holding their Memorial Day ceremony Sunday afternoon.

It starts at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park off Neeb Road. There will be a role call of 19 Delhi residents who have been killed in action. There will also be a wreath-laying, bag pipers and a color guard.

A free grill out follows the ceremony.

Union Township, Ohio

Union Township Veterans Park also has a big event. Starting at 6 a.m. Monday, there will be a reading of names of the fallen.

During the eight-hour period, the names of local soldiers killed in Vietnam will be read. A field of white crosses near the Helicopter Memorial will represent each veteran whose name is read.

A memorial ceremony will start at 2 p.m.

Martinsville, Ohio

And the popular band Over-the-Rhine continues a Memorial Day weekend tradition. They're holding their Nowhere Else Festival at 190 Townsend Road in the Martinsville area of Clinton County Saturday and Sunday.

The band will be performing along with many of their musician friends.

The event also includes art, nature and food.
