Off-duty cop accidently shoots self in OTR

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- An off-duty Erlanger Police officer accidentally shot himself in Over-The-Rhine on Saturday.
Police were called to a building on Mercer Street near Vine Street at about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
Investigators said that the officer was adjusting his belt in an elevator when his service weapon discharged.
The bullet ricocheted and hit him in the stomach.
The officer's wife was present at the time of the accident.
The weapon discharged was the officer's service weapon.
He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with injuries that are not life-threatening.
