This February 2017 conference considered the craft of the librettist, and discussed what it means to write the words of an opera in the 21st century. It was presented by Guildhall School of Music & Drama in partnership with the Royal Opera. Ruth Mariner (Librettist Network Coordinator and Artistic Director, Gestalt Arts) and Stephen Plaice (Writer in Residence, Guildhall School) launch the Librettist Network.
