Here is the second video in the series “How To Play On Songs”. My friends Kevin and Nick came over because they wanted me to record violin parts on the song “Vanilla Boy” for their band Major Powers (I also play with Kevin in the band Diego’s Umbrella). When we were done, we did a live version, and then I explained the various things I did on the song. I think the “take-home message” here is that mistakes are OK if you you don’t let them stop you. We all made various mistakes, things that deviated from the recording. But the spirit was fun and I thought the music sounded good, which is the important thing. Everyone makes some mistakes.
