More than 17,000 drivers travel on Church St. between 9th and 14th Avenues in downtown Nashville every day.  

And with the number of accidents piling up in that section of town, city engineers have made some drastic changes. 

"At the interstate we were having a lot of problems with accidents," said Mark Macy, Metro Nashville Public Works engineering. "It wasn't as safe as we wanted it to be."

To get it as safe as they did want it to be, Nashville Metro Public Works and the Tennessee Department of Transportation teamed up to spruce up this section of Church St.
