More than 100,000 impala's or rooibok live in the Kruger park. Their favourite habitats are located along the rivers, where there is plenty of water. Impalas also like short grass and small bushes. Their diet includes both grass and leaves. The impala mating season is restricted to April, May and June. The male impalas, or rams, mark their territories and form a harem. Defending this territory is a matter of life and death. The female impalas, or ewes, do not recognize the borders of the territories, and have been known to alternate freely between harems. The result of the impalas' amorous tour de force is a single lamb in November, December or January. The lamb must be able to stand on its legs within a few minutes. After that, it starts investigating the wild surroundings together with its mother. Broadcast format available at: http://www.stockshot.nl/
