Mudcracks is one of our favorite type of foreground, but it is so difficult to work with when combined with a tall element as the main subject (our tube light-painting! haha) . I'm spending so much time doing the composition when working with those, and we end up not having tons of pictures. However, as we know that we've been creating some of our best ones in these conditions, we keep pushing for more. It was really too cold that night and I can't say we created miracles, but there's one thing that we're sure: the fact that we're pushing so much to work in complicated conditions is making other shootings look easy. We got to work with other mudcracks a few months after these ones, but the conditions were so much better, and that experience with the cold made us appreciate more and also really made us take the time to figure out the perfect alignment. Check out episode 40 for a warmer one :) https://youtu.be/EowVZWPdY9g Here are a few of our top mudcrack pictures (taken in other locations) - https://500px.com/photo/217611731 - https://500px.com/photo/279251179 - https://500px.com/photo/282784687 ----------- About this series: going to the Atacama desert was a dream for us. We knew we would go there one day, but things suddenly rushed out when Audi Canada invited us to go there. We spent a week in the cold winter of the desert to play with the tubes and the stars. Thanks to Benro for the continous support and the tripods! The 7 episodes are filmed during our 10-days trip to Chile in June/July 2018 --- About the Tube Stories We're a dancer/photographer duo making our way using a tube, a feather, and a flashlight. Everything we do is lit by hand, one frame at a time. Light-painting for us is a lifestyle, and this is what we share with our audience. The purpose of the Tube Stories is to bring a brighter and more colorful night to whoever is going to cross our path. Our work has been presented on the BBC, CNN, MTV, VICE, TEDx and much more. --- About Eric Paré (Instagram: @ericparephoto) Eric Paré is an artist-entrepreneur.
