The Walking Dead's Robert Kirkman Apologizes For Season 6 Cliffhanger and Teases Negan!

Recently in the Letter Hacks of the latest issue #154 of The Walking Dead comics, Robert Kirkman replied to a fan of the show about the season 6 finale cliffhanger. He explained his thoughts on fan reactions to 6x16 titled, "Last Day On Earth." He discussed the hate and explained their goals of the cliffhanger. He states that he wanted fans to get excited about The Walking Dead after it ended and to come up with theories, speculation, and other predictions on who died while they were waiting for the show to return in October. He states that their intentions were not to game the fans or anger them. They wanted to try something new to get the fans talking and excited about season 7. If we are to believe this statement as 100% true, I would definitely settle with the reasoning of speculation for the Negan cliffhanger rather than just for viewership and more money. Kirkman mentions how fun speculation and theories are, in which I absolutely agree. He also teases the idea of someone dying and that Negan can do much more.  He even says that everything in the final episode of season 6 was important, and was also setting up something we will most likely not expect. This is very interesting because it makes us wonder if the person that died in the comics is actually going to die the same way in the show by Negan and Lucille. Kirkman even apologized to fans that were disappointed and angry with the cliffhanger, which did take a lot of integrity and guts, coming from a highly looked-up-to Walking Dead creator.  In closing, I believe we should lower the pitchforks and try giving the producers and creators a chance at fixing and improving their mistakes. If we see that they are not listening or trying to improve, then we can come back and complain along with other actions. These are just my thoughts and opinions.
