The State Capture Commission will begin public hearings on Aug 20th. Commission Chair Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo told the media in Johannesburg that the hearings were expected to go on for six weeks initially. The briefing follows a North Gauteng High Court ruling to extend the commission's deadline by two years calculated from March the first. Broadcasters will be allowed to carry the proceedings live in line with the rules of the commission on transparency. Our reporter Mbongeni Muhtwa has been following the story.
