Most kenyans feel new tax regime is punitive

The 2018/2019 financial year begins in under 15 days, but will not be welcomed by many who feel that the government has gotten its priorities, all mixed up. Most of the Kenyans we spoke to, feel that the government fiscal plans weigh heavily on low income earners, to fund President Uhuru Kenyatta's BIG FOUR AGENDA and is not representative of a ROBIN HOOD TAX regime. Treasury CS Henry Rotich seeks to increase taxes on fuel and mobile phone transfer. Leila Mohammed brings us the fears, cheers and concerns of kenyans, over this new system of taxing a part of the population, that sometimes struggles to put food on the table.
