This something that I wanted to discuss in this Las Vegas vlog as more of a current event in the local community. As some of you may know, Las Vegas is one of few major cities in America that does have Uber or Lyft. They were able to operate in the state of Nevada briefly late in 2014, but were then barred from operations.

I knew that the fight for Uber to get back into Nevada was far from over. Even in a city like Vegas, there is a high demand for people who want to use Uber and Lyft to get around Las Vegas. Governor Sandoval recently signed legislation allowing the companies to operate in Nevada again, and were supposed to begin operations in July. However, that date has been pushed back in order to resolve more issues with regulation, and trying to put a tax on the companies. Uber and Lyft may be operating in Las Vegas by as early as Labor Day Weekend.

I'm glad to hear that this is happening. One way or another Uber and Lyft will be able to operate in Nevada at some point. The demand is already high, and it will only continue to grow. Technology is a tough force to fight, and the sharing economy is only going to grow stronger in the future.

I have not taken Uber or Lyft yet since living in Las Vegas. If you have used either one or are a driver for either one, then please tell me about your experience. Tell me if you think that having Uber and Lyft in Las Vegas is a good thing or not.
