Sentencing delayed for former Miami officer convicted of gross sexual imposition

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - Sentencing for a former Miami University police officer was delayed so his attorneys can file papers relating to a new trial.

Dustin Young was convicted in 2017 of gross sexual imposition and abduction concerning a co-worker.

The request for the new trial is based on defense claims that new evidence turned up following his first trial.

Should that request be denied, Young would then be sentenced. He could get up to four and a half years in prison.
