If God does not exist, then good and evil are both delusions. Value becomes entirely relative. Relative to the parts of nature that you are lucky enough to own. As the rightful owner of your earned portion of the earth, you can do with it as you wish, as long as no direct harm comes to your neighbor (ie, as long as they can't prove beyond reasonable doubt that your parts are interfering with theirs). The effects on the whole as a result of the manipulation of parts owned by any particular individual (or corporation, at least under US law) that are not made immediately clear to the mechanistic view of life will be declared non-existent. In other words, such nebulous concepts as "health and well-being" and/or "goodness" shall be deemed unimportant, if not entirely irrelevant or "supernatural" (aka, non-mechanistic).
