Wind energy is big business in northern Germany and nowhere more so than in Husum. The small town on the wind-swept shores of North Frisia is the epicentre of the regions booming wind industry. Every September, experts from across the world gather here for the HusumWind trade show. The town is also home to wind power companies of all shapes and sizes: from global players in wind farm construction, to local turbine maintenance specialists. There is even a renewable energy training centre in Husum, which attracts students from near and far to learn about the technology of the future. Grit Hofmann finds out what puts the wind in Husum's sails.
