HARRISON TOWNSHIP -- An 11-year-old is stabbed Wednesday morning in Dayton as he was waiting for the bus. Investigators say it was at the hands of another 11-year-old who is now charged with the crime. My son was just stabbed at the bus stop by a classmate, a mother says to the 911 dispatcher. He's just upset and crying, he said he can't move his arm.She drove him to the Imagine School on Klepinger Road. That is where the the fifth grader was supposed to get off the bus, but after he was stabbed by another student, he ran home. They got on the bus, I thought nothing of it., I watched them get on the bus and everything, but when the police was blocking off the area and everything I was like what's going on? said Dachell Gillis who was inside getting her nephews ready for school.Deputies were searching for evidence, and they found it. The knife's blade is about four inches long, so the 11 year old had to be stitched up. Investigators say the victim was in a fight last week with a friend of the suspect, so it appears this was all about retaliation.Thank God nothing happened to the young man that got stabbed as far as life threatening, and hopefully through some type of counseling and intervention we can get this young man on the right path again. 10, 11 years old is very young, Major Daryl Wilson said, with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. That 11-year-old suspect is now charged with felonious assault. When I was 10, I was playing with Barbie dolls and girlie stuff and sometimes playing basketball, but I wasn't thinking about 'oh let me fight this person because I don't like them or let me get a knife,' Gillis said.Given that the suspect is just 11, case workers with the Juvenile Justice Center will likely develop a safety plan with the family as this case works itself through the justice system.
