Well, as the legend goes, Thomas Edison had nine-hundred-and-ninety-nine attempts at making the light bulb before he came up with the specific one that we use today. This little guy that we take for granted had a lot of work and perseverance behind it. There are so many different places that light bulbs go in our house, and one of the most important things you can know is where each one is supposed to go. The important thing you can do is look on your fixture, and on the fixture will be a number with the letter "w" next to it. And that needs to be matched up exactly to the light bulb. You don't want to make the mistake and put a regular household light bulb in your oven or another appliance. You can also see certain fixtures have these candelabra type light bulbs, and these have a certain wattage that keep the light fixture from being burnt out. So believe it or not, one of Thomas Edison's original light bulbs is still burning in his old vacation home, and with the same care and effort you can keep your house well lit.
