Among Japanese jewelry design contests, this award is considered to be the highest of the JJA 2007 jewelry design awards. The piece features a handmade gold mesh interwoven with enamel and pearl flower petals that evoke an image of a flowerbed with honeybees and butterflies flying amidst the flowers. The chairperson of the Japan Pearl Association presented its award for the use of rare and exquisite Akoya pearls. Plans call for marketing the set in Japan beginning this fall. The company intends to launch sales in Hong Kong and Thailand in the future.
