Diane F. Jelinek, Ph.D, came to Mayo Clinic in 1991 after having completed both her graduate training and post doctoral training at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. She was drawn to Mayo by the strength of its rigorous academic department, the resources that the institution offered to new scientists like her, in addition to having access to some of the brightest Ph.D. candidates in the world. Find out how teaching scientists gives Dr. Jelinek a chance to live vicariously through their laboratory work as she prepares them to emerge as the best trained biomedical research scientists that they can be.
