Yes, they have Orange BORGs — so does The Netherlands ⇊ Click “Show More” for Stuff you probably want to know! ⇊ This is just a quick and short vlog’ish video showing something neat that I found in Germany — a big box store that at first glance seems so similar to the Big stores back home. Years ago on woodworking forums, someone coined the phrase “The BORG” to refer to Home Depot. As an acronym, it means the Big Orange Retail Giant, but it also refers mostly to “The Borg” from Star Trek. It’s big, and box shaped, and it goes around absorbing/defeating smaller competitors — like the Borg did on Star Trek. After a while the term was used for other Big Box home centres as well.
