Food inflation is expected to increase modestly until the end of 2019, owing to prices of agricultural commodities and the inputs used to produce them, the exchange rate, as well as fuel price. This is according to the the 2018 edition of the Bureau for Food and Agricultural Policy (BFAP) Baseline 2018 Agricultural Outlook 2018-2027. The baseline presents an outlook of agricultural production, consumption, prices and trade in South Africa for the period 2018 to 2027.
