Do New iPhones Sound Better For Music?

An unscientific test into whether new iPhone music sound quality is better or worse than old models. Does the dongle make a difference? Do you need to use the lightning port into a DAC?

The conclusions of these tests were a little disappointing with the iPhone range tested all sounding perfectly acceptable and measuring almost identical using basic waveform measurements.

As I say, this is unscientific. It's a bit of fun. A curiosity of mine, you might say. If you take it too seriously in the comments, I will just ask you to read the description.
