The ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe has cautioned the South African Communist Party against contesting the elections independently, as this will lead to the division of the tripartite alliance. Mantashe was addressing the ANC Janury 8 regional celebration in Kanana near Klerksdorp in the North West. There are calls among the SACP members that the party contest the elections on its own, citing disunity and disregard of alliance views as a result. Mantashe says should that happen, both the SACP and ANC will lose the elections. For more news, visit: http://www.sabc.co.za/news
