GOODLETTSVILLE, TN - It's been a year since a Greenbrier baby was born and two weeks later, was credited for saving his mother's life.

A deadly head -on collision killed Emmett Bouge's 3- year old sister and grandmother and left he and his mother injured as they were running errands.
  
Tonight, we check in on the Bouge family's progress since that tragic night last January and why today, they're celebrating.

Emmett Bouge turns one.

It's been a tough year for the Bouge family and a circus-themed party is what they're planning.
   
They're celebrating their baby boy for keeping their family strong through it all.

Megan Bouge says she and her husband wake up every day for their son, Emmett.

Today she's waking Emmett to celebrate his big day.

Two weeks after he was born, Emmett suffered a broken leg in the wreck that took his grandmother and 3-year old sister, Wyncie.

Doctors say Megan survived due to the progesterone still in her body since giving birth to Emmett.

Badly injured, she spent months in surgery and therapy and is now finally able to walk herself.

She's now back to teaching dance classes and the Goodlettsville home she grew up in is where she's now raising her family.

Pictures of their late daughter decorate her mother's fireplace mantel.

It's a move that's been a comfort and relief after losing what she calls her everything.

She now celebrates her angel in heaven Who's gained worldwide attention on social media and brought people closer to their faith.

Her angel on earth crawls, plays and is happy and healthy, clinging to his birthday balloons.

Since Wyncie's death, Megan and her husband Brandon have been campaigning to save lives through seatbelt and carseat restraint awareness.
   
The driver who hit them also died at the scene and toxicology reports found no alcohol and were inconclusive for drugs.
